Up to three editions side by side, and reading focus
The edition library reads up to three editions in columns, each named by a chip; one dialog chooses any edition; reading focus leaves only the text.
- Up to three editions side by side. A chip over each column names its edition; its menu changes, moves or removes it, and the first column is the base the others are read against. ”+ Compare” beside the last chip adds another. The column names stay in view as you read, and on a phone each text carries its edition’s name.
- One dialog to choose an edition, with search, languages, favourites, recently read editions and book sets. It says which editions lack the chapter you are reading.
- The chapter is the title, and a passage button opens the edition’s own books and chapters.
- Reading focus hides everything but the text and its toolbar, stays on from chapter to chapter, and Escape ends it.
- Short names readers know. Each edition’s short name was checked against what its own readers use, in their own script where they write it so: 개역한글 for the Korean Revised Version, 和合简 and 和合繁 for the Chinese Union Version, СП for the Russian Synodal, LSG for Louis Segond, and scholars’ sigla such as TR and BYZ for the Greek texts.
