Collection

Daniel, Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi

Daniel and the last three prophets of the Old Testament are collected.

  • Daniel: the young men at Nebuchadnezzar’s court, the image of gold and the furnace, the king’s dream of the tree, Belshazzar’s feast, the den of lions, and Daniel’s visions. New entries include Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, Ashpenaz, Arioch, Belshazzar and Darius the Mede, and the plain of Dura, Elam, the Ulai and the Hiddekel.
  • The figures of dreams and visions (the image, the tree, the four beasts, the horns), the angels Gabriel and Michael, and the watchers are not made into entries. Interpretations are given only as far as a speaker in the text gives them.
  • Darius the Mede is kept apart from Darius king of Persia in Ezra, with an open question.
  • Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi: the house of the LORD rebuilt, the dated words to Zerubbabel and Joshua, Zechariah’s eight visions, and the priests who despise the LORD’s name. Promises, threats and visions are not recorded as events. Joshua son of Jehozadak is kept apart from Jeshua son of Jozadak in Ezra, with an open question.

The collection now covers 30 of the 66 books and 671 chapters. Collected with AI assistance and awaiting human review.
